National Commission for Educational Accreditation(NCEA)

National Commission for Educational Accreditation(NCEA) is a non-profit organization managed by an elected and Selected Executive Committee of members who donate their time to conduct the business of the association.

We are a voluntary, non-governmental, educational
organization that operates a nationally recognized accrediting association. We also are a professional association for t eachers, developers, researchers, consultants and administrators involved in Educational learning, Academia and are for professionals working in flexible, open and networked education, committed to nurturing growth, progress, expansion of research and good-practices in these sector.

Our Accrediting Commission defines, maintains, sustains and promotes educational superiority in distance education institutions. The Commission is dedicated to fostering quality assurance, protection of the rights of institutional self-improvement through voluntary accreditation via peer evaluation. Our accreditation aims to install public confidence in institutions’ missions, goals, performances, and resources through a rigorous application and peer-developed accreditation standards. Membership is open to any individual or institution with an interest in education and/or open learning. NCEA is made up of individual and institutional members worldwide.

Distance, open learning and flexible delivery learning systems use educational and telecommunications technology such as printed materials, video or teleconferencing, e-mail, internet, and television. They aim to give the general public as much control as possible over what, when, where and how they learn.

Our membership comprises of all sectors inside education viz, pre-school, primary, secondary, vocational and tertiary. We are dyed-in-thewool to lifelong learning.
This association aims to foster high standards in the practice of education globally.

This will be achieved by:

  • To assure the general public of the quality of educational training provided by NCEA accredited institutions and their programs
  • To support institutions in constantly recuperating themselves and the training they provide
  • Undertaking activities which are seen by the Association to be in the interests of education.
  • Advising and making representations on any matters relevant to education and training.
  • Establishing and maintaining liaison with the international education community.
  • Promoting discussion about research and development in education, disseminating the results of relevant research and identifying areas in
    which research and development is particularly needed.
  • Organizing regular conferences, special interest seminars, and workshops on educational areas.
  • Regularly publishing a newsletter referred to annual Journal and other publications (such as conference proceedings) from time to time.
    NCEA frequently arranges or supports professional development events in many locations and is looking to extend the number of electronic
    and online professional development events. Some events are restricted to NCEA members.

NCEA recognizes excellence in the field through a series of awards. The awards are presented biennially at the NCEA Conference. The two main categories are:

  • Excellent Practice in Open, Flexible and Distance Learning, Education and Training.
  •  Excellence in Research in Open, Flexible and Distance Learning, Education and Training.

of the activities of other bodies:

Collaborative arrangements

– NCEA has arrangements in place with sister professional associations to share information and collaborate in
particular activities. The administration is the first get in touch with for any associations wishing to come in into collaborative engagements.
The NCEA has already initiated several projects and activities aimed at enhancing the capacity of universities in the region to support their core
functions. Most of these activities are aimed at the implementation of the strategies described within its strategic plans. Whereas some have
been supported internally, the majority of the projects have benefited from external funding as a result of project proposals developed by the NCEA

The National Commission for Educational Accreditation (NCEA) is a non-governmental organization that aims to provide recognition to all sectors of education for a national standard. NCEA confirms that the institution provides exemplary services in the context of education, professional teaching, and a proper learning experience. The NCEA organizes the things for a better understanding of standards to the online programming for the institutes, colleges and also pre-school. NCEA assure the general public of the quality of the educational training provided by NCEA accredited institution and their programs and assist the institution in continuously improving themselves and the training they provide. By this organization, the candidates probable that education accredited within the candidate’s own country. NCEA provides the confirms candidates’ commitments to internationalization and, in particular candidate’s commitment to support the education of the national and international students.
Our organization boosts the profile of candidates center and confirms that it meets high standards of education welfare and good practice.
Our international Accreditation gives the belief to students, parents and also agents that the educational provider is a good choice because they have the valuable qualification and positive learning experience. NECA is aimed to establish a system of accreditation in the price ate sector, it’s playing the role of indicator for quality and through the Accreditation process to improve and enhance the standards of independent future and distance education institutions.

OUR HISTORY:-

The NCEA meeting was held in quite from 6 to 8 July 2008. The organization was co-organized by EDUCATION COUNCIL MISSION (ECM). It was attended by heads of the quality assurance team of (NCEA).For any organization, quality assurance is much important for the better future of the organization. For the build, trust in audience quality assurance is very much important. For the success of any organization, the country representatives presented the general overview of quality assurance in education in the respective countries. The organization is also making the presentation on meeting and was compiled and published as proceedings and distributed to all members.
The main and important objectives of the inaugural roundtable were expanding networks among quality assurance (QA) agencies. By history, the information to learn about each other’s system of assuring quality idea of higher education and to consider the establishment of an NCEA network.
The success discussion meeting agreed to adopt the Declaration on the Establishment of the National Commission for Educational Accreditation ( NCEA).
